Welcome to my page! I am an Associate Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for the Study of Economics and Liberty at Mercer University.

I earned a Ph.D. in Economics at Arizona State University, an M.S. in Economics at Arizona State University, an M.A. in Economics and Public Policy at Georgetown University and a B.S. in Economics at the Bolivian Catholic University.

Prior to joining Mercer University, I held academic appointments at Arizona State University, American University of Sharjah and Georgia State University. I have also held consulting appointments at Deloitte & Touche, the Dubai Economic Council and the Latin American Institute of Development and Social Studies in Chile.

My work focuses on teaching, doing research and blogging in the areas of institutional economics, political economy and the foundations of capitalism and economic freedom. I am a frequent speaker at academic seminars, conferences and industry events in the US and abroad.
